At TaKoda Insurance, we strive to keep our clients updated on the latest insurance news. We appreciate your current business with us, and wanted to enlighten you on some upcoming health insurance happenings.
Starting November 1st, the Affordable Care Act Annual Open Enrollment period begins. If you have individual coverage and want to change plans, if you are on a group plan but would rather check on individual plan prices, or if you have no coverage currently, please give us a call at (325) 695-9999. You can ask for Brendan or Sherrie, or simply say, "I need help with health insurance". For those without health coverage & health insurance in 2016, here are the fines you might have to pay:
The fee for not having health coverage in 2016
If you don’t have health insurance in 2016, you’ll pay the higher of these two amounts:
· 2.5% of your yearly household income (Only the amount of income above the tax filing threshold, about $10,150 for an individual in 2014, is used to calculate the penalty.) The maximum penalty is the national average premium for a Bronze plan.
· $695 per person ($347.50 per child under 18) The maximum penalty per family using this method is $2,085.
We also work with those needing subsidized plans, so if you think your income is so low that you can't afford health insurance, please give us a call. You might be pleasantly surprised. Have a great day!
